The eligibility questions check your eligibility in line with the national recruitment standards. You will be advised at the end of the questionnaire if you have met all the eligibility criteria. If you are referred as a result of any of your answers, a member of the Talent Acquisition team will contact you to advise on the next stages.
Application Form
Please note for this recruitment campaign we will not be using the National Police Officer Application Form.
You must submit your application form with proof of qualification by way of original certificates, exam slips or letters from the relevant educational establishment or with evidence of previous experience on your application form. You will also need to provide a copy of your driving licence if currently held. If you have any tattoos, please ensure you enclose a photograph of them as per the application form guidelines.
As part of your application form, you will be required to complete questions around your motivations for applying. Please note, this section will not be assessed at this stage but will be used at In Force interview (stage four) should you be successful in reaching this stage.
Applications forms must be submitted via the e-recruitment system. Hard copies will not be accepted.
The National Sift
After the application stage there is now an additional stage called National Sift.
The national sift allows you to demonstrate your suitability for the role of police officer and consists of two exercises:
Exercise 1 – Situational Judgement Test
You will be presented with 15 different scenarios, which police constables may face in their role.
Exercise 2 – Behavioural Style Questionnaire
You will be presented with 80 statements regarding your typical behaviour and preferences at work.
