Man charged with Costco armed robbery

A 40-year-old man will appear before Sheffield Magistrates Court this morning, Thursday 9 May, in connection to an armed robbery at the Costco store on Parkway Drive, Sheffield on Sunday 28 April. 

At 4.40pm, two masked men arrived outside the store in a blue Ford Focus and ran into the store armed with a hammer and a sawn off shotgun. The men used the hammer to smash the glass and gain access to the jewellery counter; over £12,000 worth of goods were stolen. 

James Allen, of no fixed abode, was charged yesterday (Wednesday 8 May) with robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and driving offences. He was also recalled to prison with his licence being revoked

Officers are still appealing for information to locate a second suspect and urge anyone who saw what happened or can help to contact 101 quoting incident number 622 of 28 April 2019.
