Today (Thursday 21 February), Operation Duxford returns to Doncaster, with dedicated teams of officers, support staff and other key organisations working to address issues raised by members of the community.
Officers from across the neighbourhood teams were briefed early this morning and already there have been a number of warrants carried out. Further updates in relation to these will be posted throughout the day. Just follow #OpDuxford on social media.
Off-road bike operations, increased patrols and, pop-up crime prevention stands will all form part of today’s day of intensified action. It builds on the work being done every day by officers in Doncaster, as Chief Inspector Andy Hunt explains.
“Today, our officers will be joined by staff from other agencies including Serco for work at HMP Marshgate, licensing officers from Doncaster Council and Trading Standards.
“All of the work undertaken throughout the day and in to the evening is part of our daily response to what members of the public have told us they are either concerned about, or crime where they live that is affecting them.
“There will be an increased policing presence in the town centre, with two pop-up crime prevention stands and high-visibility patrols being carried out in the centre and surrounding areas.
“If you see our offices out and about, please stop and say hello to them, ask them more about Operation Duxford and they’ll be able to tell you about the positive work we’re doing to ensure Doncaster remains a safe and enjoyable place to live work and visit.”
Further updates about today’s activity will be posted on the social media feeds. Follow #OpDuxford to learn more.
