Assistant Chief Constable Tim Forber said: “Protecting children and vulnerable adults from harm is a primary role of the police service, putting those people’s welfare and safety at the heart of everything we do. Our officers and staff cannot do this alone though and that’s why this week is all about showing that safeguarding is everyone’s business.
“We work closely and share information with a host of agencies across South Yorkshire to ensure that vulnerable individuals in our communities receive the best and most appropriate support available but it’s crucial that every one of us learns how to spot the signs of abuse and keep each other safe.
