Woman dies following motorway collision

A 48-year-old woman who suffered serious injuries following a collision on the A1M last month has sadly died in hospital.

At around 10.15am on Friday 23 August, it is reported that a white Vauxhall Corsa and a black Yamaha motorcycle were involved in a collision on the A1M northbound carriageway as they approached junction 35.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 55-year-old man, and the pillion passenger, a 48-year-old woman, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 48-year-old woman sadly died in hospital on Tuesday 3 September. Specialist officers are providing support to her family.

Officers continue to appeal for information about the collision and remain keen to hear from anyone who may hold dash cam footage of the incident.
