Armed officers have recovered a firearm and a 19-year-old man has been charged after a man was allegedly seen with a gun on Abbeydale Road.
Mohammed Ali Ibrar, of Joshua Road, Sheffield, has been charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
Police were called shortly before 7pm on Wednesday (9 August) by a member of the public who reported seeing a man with a firearm entering an address on Abbeydale Road.
Armed officers responded and recovered a converted blank firing pistol from the property, along with converted ammunition and a quantity of cash and cannabis.
Ibrar was among four people arrested in connection with the incident. A 22-year-old woman, and two men aged 20 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of firearms and drugs offences. They have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Ibrar was charged last night (10 August) and remanded to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today (11 August).
