A man has been charged after an incident on Friday (23 July) where police received reports that a man was in possession of a firearm in Welland Crescent, Elsecar.
Armed officers were deployed immediately after the report was made at 1.17pm. They arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
Kevin Matthews, of Oak Close, was charged with criminal damage, robbery and possession of an imitation firearm on Saturday (24 July). He was also charged with section 18 assault and theft relating to a separate incident which took place earlier in the day on Friday.
Matthews appeared in court today and was remanded in custody until his next hearing.
