Concerning behaviour towards teenage girls in Rotherham

Detectives in Rotherham are asking for your help following an incident at Wickersley Park, near to Wickersley Health Centre on Bawtry Road, last week (20 May).

It is reported that on Wednesday 20 May, two girls, aged 14 and 15 years-old were walking along a gennel, which leads into Wickersley park between 8:30pm and 9pm when they were approached by a man.

The man is alleged to have approached the girls and made inappropriate comments

A woman, unknown to the girls spoke with them as he left the area. The girls were both unharmed.

Detectives are keen to speak to the woman who witnessed the incident and anyone else in the area, who may have spoken to the girls after the incident, or have any information that can help officers with their enquiries.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and remains in police custody.
