Doncaster Independent Advisory Group
Date published: 17 October 2023 07:25Welcome to Doncaster's Independent Advisory Group (IAG)
I am the District Commander for Doncaster, and I would like to thank you for visiting our IAG web page. The IAG in Doncaster enables us to create a genuine partnership with our local and diverse communities.
Through that partnership, our members help us to achieve our policing priorities of protecting vulnerable people, tackling crime and antisocial behaviour and enabling fair treatment. I hope that the information contained on this web page with give some insight into the work that our IAG members do, and encourage more people to join us.
Ian Proffitt - Chief Superintendent

Meet the Doncaster IAG Chair
Jenny Dewsnap – chair
Jenny is one of the original group responsible for setting up Pride in Doncaster in 2007, and has been chair for the last seven years. During this time Jenny has become a voice for the wider issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community here in Doncaster and farther afield since taking up the co-chair position for UK Pride Organisers Network just over a year ago.
Many may see Pride as a once a year “celebration” but Pride, now a registered charity, has fundraised close to three quarters of a million pounds in its 14 years, much of this for projects reaching into the community including youth outreach, a Trans Group, a film, two books and a project in schools.
Passionate about Doncaster, lover of music, culture and creativity Jenny is a champion for those with little or no voice. Born and bred in Doncaster she has two children and a recent addition of a grandson.
