Police have released a further appeal for witnesses and information following a collision in the Pitsmoor area of Sheffield earlier this year involving an ambulance.

At around 10.35am on Monday 14 January, it is reported that an ambulance travelling along Burngreave Road, Pitsmoor, was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, close to the junction with Abbeyfield Road.

The pedestrian, a 57-year-old man who has been named as Paul Ali (pictured), was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he sadly died on Friday 25 January.

Police are keen to hear from any pedestrians who were in the immediate vicinity of Burngreave Road and Abbeyfield Road on that morning, as it’s understood from enquiries carried out to date that Mr Ali may have been stood with a couple of people prior to the collision.

It is also believed that a white Range Rover was travelling in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision.

Officers are keen to trace any witnesses yet to come forward with information and ask anyone who can help to contact 101 quoting incident number 298 of 14 January 2019.
