64-year-old man dies in Rotherham collision

Specialist road traffic officers are asking witnesses to come forward after a 64-year-old man died following a collision in the Dalton area of Rotherham yesterday evening (Saturday 18 March).

A blue Honda Civic, travelling along the A630 Doncaster Road towards Thrybergh at about 8.20pm, is reported to have been in collision with the man, who we believe was crossing the road outside of Silverwood Miners Welfare Club, Dalton.

The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 20-year-old man driving the Honda has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Officers investigating the collision want to hear from you, if you saw what happened, or saw the Honda in the area prior to the collision.
