Attendees at the Community Safety Meeting decided to have the local priority in the town centre due to the anticipated seasonal increase in crime and ASB.

Athersley North

Additional patrols have taken place in Athersley North, and the number of incidents and crimes reported throughout November 2016 have decreased.

Penistone Market Barn and Skate Park

Additional patrols took place to deter ASB however the area in general was quiet. Friday evenings were the busiest, due to a roller-blading event which is attracting youths in larger numbers than usual.

Numerous incidents have been reported regarding nuisance youths using the park area off Doncaster Road, Measbrough Dyke. Complaints have involved noise, litter, abusive behaviour and reports of drug use. Incidents of a racial nature have also been reported and are being followed up by police.... more

PCSOs will conduct a number of speed gun checks to ascertain problematic times and days. We also have a number of Special Constables who will follow this up with enforcement work.

Nuisance Youths Thursday, 4 August, 2016
Back Lane, Tesco car park, Skate park, Cemetery, Penistone

Additional patrols will take place to identify youths causing a nuisance. Parents will be made aware of youths mis-behaving, and appropriate action will be taken against repeat offenders.

Additional patrols from PCSOs will take place in the affected areas. SYP and BMBC will liaise to consider delivery of a leaflet to explain litter disposal processes to residents.

Nuisance Vehicles Monday, 3 October, 2016
Athersley North

Attendees at the Community Safety Meeting highlighted an increase in the use of off-road motorcycles and quad bikes causing a nuisance in the Athersley North area. Patrols will focus on this area in the forthcoming weeks.

Attendees at the Community Safety meeting this month asked for the issue of speeding to remain a focus. PCSOs will conduct speed gun operations at highlighted locations to deter offenders and support from Roads Policing Group officers have been requested.
